Mykola

I am a:

  • software developer with 30+ years of experience,

  • 10+ years of B2B business development, sales and marketing,

  • 4 years of running a marketing agency of 30 marketing consultants.

This is why I am doing this -- developing tools for B2B marketing process automation is an obvious choice based on my experience.

How it started

In 2021 was working as a Head of Business Development at a software development outsourcing company -- we sold working hours of Ukrainian software engineers to Norwegian companies.

The main problem I had was to get prospects interest. I tried hiring a lead generation agency, but after trying working with the most promising 5 of them, I did not find any that was able to deliver enough meetings at the right price.

We sent tons of spam to get potential clients replies, but all the responses we got was "it is not the right time", "we are not looking for such services", "you are too late -- we just hired a vendor". So the real problem was to write to the right company at the right time.

And we were not alone with that problem -- the whole market worked like this -- spamming and getting almost no positive responses.

This looked like a great opportunity to disrupt the industry -- thousands of companies struggling to find business clients for their services, and hundreds of lead generation agencies promising to solve this problem but struggling to deliver. Having experience in building a marketing business before, I decided that this is my moment.

Deal Baker

Deal Baker started in 2023 as a lead-generation agency. We tried our approach on multiple companies, and it seemed to work pretty well.

But after having ca. 10 customers, we realized that hit the ceiling and for further scaling we should either hire a lot of people, or make the whole thing automated.

Since I have such a software development background, the latter option seemed more relevant, and we chose to stop providing services and focus on scaling as a tech startup.

We took all the intent-detection scripts we have developed for ourselves and rigorously tested during the first year, and packed it as a SaaS product -- SignalsAPI platform.

SignalsAPI

It is a tool that Deal Baker developed for itself to serve its clients, i.e. provide hot high-intent leads actively looking for the services our clients provide. After a year of testing and polishing, we decided to go to market with it.

First attempts of selling it as a SaaS product were in 2024.

ClientAutomat

ClientAutomat is the second tool we are currently developing, which is focused on converting powerful intent data into real client conversations. ClientAutomat is automating professional, high-quality cold outreach so businesses can effortlessly connect with potential clients.
